$746 Million A Year School-to-Prison Pipeline

This week, the Urban Youth Collaborative and Center for Popular Democracy released a groundbreaking report, $746 Million A Year School-to-Prison Pipeline: The Ineffective, Discriminatory and Costly Process of Criminalizing NYC Students. Our report presents a bold vision, “The Young People’s School Justice Agenda,” for divesting from policing young people in their schools, and investing in the supports, resources, and access to opportunities they need to thrive in school and beyond. Youth leaders have created a blueprint for dismantling NYC’s School-to-Prison Pipeline.
